Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)  - 100 hour

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a specialized treatment for acute and chronic pain which utilize specific massage, stretching, and self-care protocols to eliminate the causes of many neuromuscular pain patterns. This clinical approach to treating muscular pain brings balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. In addition to being extremely effective for reducing chronic pain, NMT has been shown to enhance the function of joints, muscles and increase passive range of motion.

Neuromuscular Therapy examines physiological factors
that may create or intensify pain patterns.

  • Ischemia

  • Trigger Points

  • Nerve Entrapment/Compression

  • Postural Distortions

  • Biomechanical Dysfunction

Our 100 clock hour, NMT certification focuses on anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, functions and dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system. We use specific and detailed protocols for the treatment of common pain patterns and musculoskeletal conditions.  We have updated our program and integrated our current understanding of pain science and explore how we can use that knowledge to help free our clients from pain.   The NMT certification is a well designed, and detailed curriculum with over 60% of hands-on application and integration of knowledge. A basic musculoskeletal anatomy knowledge is suggested prior to the class.

Prerequisites:  Licensed Massage Therapist, Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, Movement Therapist.  Students should be proficient in their knowledge of muscle's origins, insertions and actions.
