Aromatherapy - Level One Certification

 

This course is designed for the health professional with an interest in the uses and applications of essential oils in a safe and therapeutic manner. This course will provide you with an understanding of aromatherapy, its therapeutic benefits, safe application and uses.  

 

Home Study

 

Aromatherapy Level 1:  Home Study - 50 hours $595

This course covers the following information:

 

  • Introduction to the history of Aromatherapy

  • Production and Quality of Essential Oils

  • Basic Physiology— to include: methods of absorption, general overview of olfaction, the limbic system, the lymphatic system, the immune system, and the skin

  • How essential oils interact on physical and emotional levels

  • Basic essential oil chemistry with contraindications of certain essential oils

  • The basics of botany (specifically taxonomy)

  • How to create/design an effective blend

  • Coverage of various carrier oils,

  • Methods of application

  • Safety issues (including dermal, respiratory, internal)

  • Methods of extraction

  • Organic chemistry

  • Blending techniques

  • Methods of extraction

  • Essential Oil Research

  • Legal and ethical issues (include a copy of the NAHA Code of Ethics for students)

Essential Oil Research - 2 Continuing Education hours  $29 - Home Study

 

Additional Requirements:

Student must complete a 5-10 page research paper.
Student must complete a minimum of 10 case histories.
Student must sit and pass examination offered by school.

Learn about essential oil chemistry and its importance regarding therapeutic blending.  Formulate the following products using carrier oils and essential oils:
